Messi Wins Golden Ball As Argentina Loses World Cup Final

This was how the awards went down in
Brazil after Germany was confirmed as
World Cup winner.
Lionel Messi won the golden ball for the
individual best player of the 2014 World
Cup. The Argentine captain won from a
shortlist including Arjen Robben,
Thomas Muller and Colombia’s James
Rodriguez. Despite winning an award,
the Barcelona star received his prize
with a frown and took the photo shoot
still frowning
Manuel Neuer won the golden glove after
keeping four clean sheets.
As no other player scored up to six goals
like James Rodriguez, the Colombian,
whose team was knocked out at the
quarter finals would be awarded.
French midfielder Paul Pogba won the
Hyundai Young Player Award, while
Colombia won FIFA Fair Play.
