Airtel Places Second in Nigeria, Ahead Of Glo, Behind MTN

New Statistics from Nigerian
Communications Commission (NCC) has
shown that Airte;l has taken over the
second position of the largest
telecommunications services provider
in terms of customers in the Nation.
Airtel overtook Glo and now has
recorded total customer number of 26,
194, 336.00 to Glo’s 24, 490, 650.00
while MTN leads the pack with an
amazing 57, 183, 745.00 and Etisalat at
18,119,397.00.
Airtel Africa CEO, Christian de Faria
said:“This is a remarkable feat for
Airtel, demonstrating that our
investments, aimed at ensuring a
superior experience for our customers in
Nigeria, are bearing fruit. It is also a
clear indication of the trust that a
growing sector of the population have
started to have in us.” He added: “This
achievement has not come easy and I
must congratulate the Airtel team in
Nigeria. Nigeria continues to be a very
competitive telecoms market and our
intention is to ensure that we continue
to innovate and make life easier for our
customers.”

Airtel was launched in Nigeria in 2010
and they have invested about $1.7bn
dollars to expand and improve the
nations service quality.
